DVC on English Language Teaching (ELT)

The American Cultural Center is pleased to invite English language teachers to attend a Digital Video Conference (DVC) program on ELT to be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009.  The speaker is Mr. Mark Algren, President of TESOL for 2009-2010. The DVC will connect Bangkok and to be conducted in English.

English language teaching professionals around the world love to share what they have done.  The Internet has thousands of thousands of Web sites containing curriculum, lesson plans, games and ideas for teaching English.  Learn how to find these great resources - on almost any topic you want to teach - by learning a few Internet search tips.  Find what you need and use it in your class!  A handout on search tips, and a bibliography of some major English teaching Web sites will be provided.

Mark Algren, President of TESOL for 2009-2010, is an Associate Director of the Applied English Center at the University of Kansa, U.S.A.  Mark has been an ESL/EFL teacher and program administrator since1979, and has spent 14 years teaching in and directing IEPs in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and taught for a year in Hong Kong.  With a strong interest in professionalism, standards, and accreditation, he has served on the TESOL Professional Development Committee, and on a task force to develop the Self-study Guide for International Reviews for CEA (Commission on English Language Program Accreditation) and has been a program site reviewer for CEA.
